This site is rich in information about the work of the Church in the US and the world, ecumenical efforts that bring us closer to other Christian churches, thoughtful documents on many of the challenging topics that face Christians in today's world, and other resources for growing in faith.

www.metronysynod.com The site for the local "synod" or regional group of Lutheran churches. The Metro NY Synod includes the counties of Putnam, Westchester, Orange, Rockland, Manhattan, Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, Nassau, Suffolk.

diakonia is a two-year program of study that emphasizes the baptismal vocation of all Christians to serve as did our Lord Jesus. The Augsburg Confession was written by Luther in 1530 to clarify and explain the articles of the Christian faith in light of the reforms he and others felt were needed in the Roman Catholic church. It became the main document to define the doctrine of the Lutheran Church.
